CONTROLLED CHAOS played and won the Audience award for best feature in
the 2002 WinFemme Film Festival. The WIN Awards were created to applaud
those in film and television who “tell women’s stories well.”
“Since 1993 Women’s Image Network has encouraged others to
positively portray women in the media to help level the playing field
for women,” says Phyllis Suart, the founder of the annual “Femme-Tastic”
WinFemme Film Festival. But the WIN awards were created to exploit women—in
the best sense of the word. To get us past the four B’s: broad,
bitch, babe and bibo. To see women in 3-D, not double D.” Besides
sponsoring the Film Festival competition, Women’s Image Network
awards networks and studios whose shows and films feature female protagonists.
